Pornhub is making the case that creators should post safe-for-work (SFW) videos alongside their adult content, citing data from its last year-in-review report.
According to that report, several SFW categories saw significant traffic gains last year: podcast traffic rose 328%, gaming traffic 283%, and music traffic 62%. Searches for the term “SFW” were up 114%.
The company says SFW uploads can help creators direct traffic to other platforms, expand their fanbases, and keep a presence in places where Pornhub has geoblocked adult content because of age-verification laws. “SFW videos can still surface for visitors in those regions,” a rep said, “strategically putting creators before audiences they may not otherwise reach.”
“Existing Pornhub creators can turn that demand into additional revenue alongside their adult content,” the rep added, “while creators new to the platform can reach audiences seeking a wider range of videos.”
Alex Kekesi, Pornhub’s VP of Brand and Community, said SFW uploads give creators “another way to earn from the broader range of what they create, including content they may have published elsewhere, giving content a second life.”
